- So, as I prepare for a new year, I was thinking about Ms. Esther, one of those cool chics in the Bible that people have put on a pedestal and can’t seem to pull down. She was imperfect, she complained, spoke her mind, lied, wore makeup and perfume… dag this chica soundssss familiar! Esther kept a man that other woman found rather difficult, she kept the top dog of the crew, 😉 you know that guy that has all the girls, throws the best parties, has the best alcohol and well, the best of everything.
Imagine, just imagine: “On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance. When he saw Queen Esther standing in the court, he was pleased with her and held out to her the gold scepter that was in his hand. So Esther approached and touched the tip of the scepter.” Esther 5: 1-2 (NIV)
Yeah this chic was bad!! Seriously, listen to Ludacris’ “My Chick Bad” and that’s who he’s talking about. But not only was she slick on the outside, this chica was Hot-2-Death on the inside. Spiritually this girls game was out this world. She believed in prayer and fasting. And she believed, knew, felt God in her life, and she didn’t have to talk about Him all day for those around her to know that there was something different about her. I wanna be more like her in the upcoming year.
Prayer: Father/Mother, creator make me more like Esther: prayerful and fearless. Re-align me so that others can see the GOD in me, before I walk in a room. Amen.
