I noticed today: When I go to events with an “Avenue of Vendors” I shop from those whose ethics align with my own… they credit the artists who created the components that add all kindsa flavor to their crafts. they do it by sharing stories, they do it by naming the other artists, they do it by their signage, they share their contacts!
Justice looks like credit given for ideas and tools not our own. Always, not sometimes. Intentionally, not in error.
So, guess who got a new bracelet (made by a group of Kenyan women, sold by a group of Roman Catholic nuns who live in Hartford with the proceeds returning to Kenya)? Just what I needed to partner with a gift from Luis and Marlena’s trip to Senegal.
